This GE model is "Slide - In" range/oven.
I read a thread dated March 16, 2011 where someone with a GE Oven but with different model had the same problem where the oven would not shut off when we press the "Clear/Off" button on the control panel.
I proceeded to test for a grounded element per this blog.
As I removed the heating element I noticed what looked like a bad spot. Upon disconnecting the element, it broke at that spot.
I proceeded to do a continuity test from each heating element wire to the chassis (with the element removed ) and found NO continuity or an ungrounded condition for the element.
For my model, does this mean the clock oven control board is shot as well as the element? If so, is it available?
Thank you,
Roger
