I have a Kenmore 417.43042200 model front load washer that stopped going into full spin speed. It makes intermittent squeaky noises during rotations. Starting a few months prior the belt had come off a few times which was easy enough to fix. After checking the belt this time, I noticed that it has been rubbing the drum in 2 places and was creating grooves in the plastic while the belt itself was creating dust as it was eaten away along the edge. This obviously explains the squeaky noise. I'm hoping it explains why the full spin speed isn't being reached. How can I fix this problem? I'm assuming a new belt won't be enough.
