Had a new kitchen done almost 2 years ago. The Electrolux Range Hood was installed Jan, 2011, and does not even have 10 hours' use. (THis is a 2nd home, so not used often yet)
We had the light on, but in pushing the button to turn it off, it would not turn off.
Only was to get light off was to cut the power to the unit. Upon powering back on, Light will not come on. Also, the Timer button doesn't work. These 2 buttons are on the Left side of the LCD display. The 2 buttons to the right are for the Fan, and that works.
In looking inside, I see there is a single box which seems to contain the display & the buttons, with a single wire going to that box.
it sounds like a switch issue, but A) If that was the case, why are the fan buttons & display working, and B) I have no idea how to fix something like this, and I am dangerous with tools! :-)
Unit is out of Warranty. But since this was only used a few hours, it seems to me a warranty should cover Time In Use, nit just Time From Purchase (It was 6 months from purchase to installation, wiping out half the warranty).
