I've got a Kenmore Upright Freezer that's giving me fits.
I went out of town for a weekend and apparently had some issue with my electricity while I was out. A couple weeks later, I noticed a horrific odor coming from my garage which turned out to be 10 lbs of rancid chicken in my freezer. The reason it took me two weeks to notice is that the control panel has been on the fritz for about 18 months, giving me no indication whether it works or not.
After flipping the breaker and resetting my GFI, I plugged the freezer back in. At first it was getting power, just the compressor wasn't running. After leaving it unplugged for a while, I tried it again, only with worse results. It won't even fire up, but there's a faint clicking sound coming from the back of it when plugged in.
My best hope is that it's the overload device. My fear is that it's something worse.
Any ideas?
Thanks
