I have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher (by Whirlpool) that runs quiet but no longer cleans the dishes properly. There are several symptoms: - Upon starting the normal wash cycle, the LED time counts down from 95 and stops at 76 (just after the main wash cycle starts). It holds at 76 for at least an hour before resuming countdown. It also seems to hold again in the 40s. - The Sensing LED indicator remains lit throughout the wash. I'm not sure if it is trying to "sense" temperature or something else? - After all cycles are complete, dishes still have soap and/or dirt residue on them. I have to manually wash/rinse much of what just came out of the dishwasher. I have Rinse Aid in place. I've tried different detergents. A repairman recently checked the washer under a home warranty. He stated that as long as the top (ceiling) of the washer was wet, then the spray arms are working and the washer is functioning "normally." He didn't check the impeller or filter, but said if there was a problem, you could hear it. He said that he would replace the control unit, since the washer is not advancing cycles. I'm not sure if that a symptom or the cause however. I've seen other threads on this model, but not something that matches what I'm experiencing. What should I look for?
