Old Fridge Repair

I have 2 very old fridges (they stay in the garage and were never for food, but for chemical agents that needed to stay cool) that just are not staying cool inside any more. So I would attempt to repair it. The way I figure the units either need to be recharged or the compressor replaced. So i figured i would start with the cheaper option and try to recharge it.

When I opened them up I noticed that there was no low or high side recharge port and in fact the the entire low side was cut off and sealed. So now I'm a little suck. As this is my first time attempting this sort of repair. I see now i'm going to need to get some extra parts then what I already have. I'm just not sure what connectors I'm in need of now.

I've attached 2 pictures 1 of the flow schematic and 1 of the compressor showing the low and hi side cut offs. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
