My washer is draining water when the tub is filling with water at the beginning of the cycle no matter what setting/cycle the washer is on. Initially, the problem was intermittent where I would check on the washer after hearing the water running for several minutes- I'd find that the tub was empty and the water was immediately draining out.
Now, I have a similar problem and it's happening all the time. Now at the start of a cycle, the washer starts to fill then drain later before moving to the next cycle. Example: I'll start the washer and it will appear the tub is filling, I stop the washer to ensure the tub is filling and after a few minutes everything seems fine, I'll restart the the washer and the tub continues to fill but when I check again, I see the water level is lower and the tub is slowly draining. I'm not sure how this happens, that the drain appears to be closed but then slowly opens to allow a slow leak?
It seems to be a valve issue, or maybe its primarily a timer that controls the valve. But what do I know, that's why I am here to seek some professional advice and maybe I can fix it myself.
