I recently bought a used washing machine from Craigslist, got it home, and discovered the spin cycle would never start unless I manually put it on spin. I posted on here about the problem and the community was wonderful and narrowed the problem down to a bad timer. The details of that are here: http://www.applianceblog.com/mainfor...ually-set.html.
I have not yet replaced the timer but we have used it and just set it manually to spin after the batch. Fast forward to today and a new problem just started.
Now it fills the tub and gets to the point where it should start agitating and it never starts. Instead, I hear the motor engage and it sounds like it's doing something, but it never agitates. If I manually put it in the area where it is supposed to agitate, it makes the same noise and still doesn't agitate. Could this still be the timer, just getting worse? Or could this be a brand new issue? Is there anything further I could do to test it? Thanks!
