Kenmore 417.44052401 - Error code 43, but replaced control panel with new, still won't spin

Hello,
First time poster, but have tried hard to do my homework and not waste anyone's time. I searched the forums for my model (this search: Appliance Repair Forums) and read all the threads, unfortunately the answer eludes me. Here is the problem, and what I have tried:

Problem: Washer won't spin when doing any cycles, however it will spin when put into the diagnostic test mode (and all tests seem to work fine, actually from what I can tell). It started that it wouldn't spin on just some cycles, yet it would spin on PermPress, but after a couple weeks of that, it won't spin at all now, except in diagnostic mode (which is a pain to put it in to spin the water out of your clothes, trust me, been doing that for a couple of weeks now)...recalling the error says that it is error 43, which according to the manuals posted here, as well as the updated error codes here: Frigidaire Frontload Washer New Fault Codes | Appliance Aid, says it is a control board problem.

I have tried the following:
1) Cleaned out the pump (read several threads saying that was the problem, if it can't pump it won't spin)...it was a disgusting mess and definitely needed to be cleaned (dog hair, a key, all kinds of crazy stuff in there)...now it pumps and drains great (solid steady stream when draining), plus of course, it happily pumps in diagnostic mode.
2) Replaced the main control panel, bought a brand new one, oddly enough it gives the SAME error 43...it was a new board, without the reed switch connector, etc.
3) Removed the door lock and tested the resistance, mine measures 1620 ohms...which may be a little high (I read here on a similar thread, here, FIXED GLTF2940 washer won't spin? - Page 2 that it should be 1500 ohms??), I have not yet replaced this part as it is for a different model washer, and a different error code, but I am desperate.

Should I replace the door lock? Is it the motor board AND the control panel (AND the door lock? :)...advice greatly appreciated, if I'm going to be close to $400 into this machine for parts (which would be control panel + motor control board + door lock), that doesn't seem worth doing. It doesn't seem like it'd be the motor control board or the control panel with things happily working otherwise, and it happily doing all the diagnostics, too?

Thank you for any suggestions :)

Ian
