We bought the washer and dryer used and they both WORK great and throw no codes. We even have them up on pedestals. No functional problems at any point in the cycle. However, at several points during a normal wash cycle there is a very loud vibration noise coming from the appliance. The sound is so loud that it is hard to pinpoint where it is coming from; It drowns out the TV easily. Imagine the sound of a drill when you press the trigger only slightly. Multiply that by 10 and then drop it into a 50 gallon drum you are hiding in. It's loud.
I found some posts here that referenced cleaning out the pump filter so I did, earning myself about $3.19. I still have the front kick panel off and the sound feels like it is coming from the pump. Shifting the pump around modifies the sound enough that it is further evidence.
What I want to know is if there is any way fix this? The pump seems to be isolated from the chassis by rubber bumpers but is there a redesigned version of the pump that works better? Is this pump making noise because it is dying or will I be in the same spot even if I replace the pump? I'm not keen on spending money to end up at the same place.
