2 weeks ago I noticed the freeze was really cold but not frozen, when I adjusted the dial to colder the fridge would kick on and freeze everything. This happened a half dozen times until I had the freezer dial set to max. Fridge worked great for a couple of day until last night when I came home and both sides were warm. The freeze dial would not turn the fridge on, however the fridge dial did turn it on and cooled everything. We have cleaned all coils beneath the fridge.
Last night I removed the back panel in the freezer to check the condenser coils (when everything was warm). It was clear of frost except the top entering coil had frost on it. As of this morning (12 hours) fridge and freezer are back to working and freezer coil has good layer of frost covering the fins. I think I attached photos of the coils before and after.
Any advise? Should I call a repairman? Buy a new fridge
Please help, Andy
