FE-R400SW Samsung Electric Range - LED display problem & flashing oven light

$

Hello,

I have a Samsung Electric Range (FE-R400SW), about 5 years old. It is in a unoccupied suite and has barely ever been used. The LED control panel is faint/dim and not displaying properly. Also, when I open the oven door, the oven light flashes on and off quickly 5-10 times accompanied by a clicking sound, like a relay. Otherwise, it seems to work.

I'm wondering if this might be a quick DIY fix (i.e.: controller board swap)? Would this part be expensive?

I really don't need the stove and would be happy to sell it but wouldn't want to pass off something that is potentially dangerous. I keep it unplugged for the time being.

Any thoughts or experiences with this?

Thanks!

665.12783K311 Groaning dishwasher: Kenmore Elite

My dishwasher was groaning and leaking. I sourced the leak as the waste water drain pump, which I easily replaced ($50), and no more leaks! When the dishwasher was running, this pump also vibrated, so I thought it was the source of the moaning. It isn't.

Recently, my city water had become quite contaminated with calcium/lime. I removed all deposits that I could see from the basin of the stainless steel tub. I noticed/removed some buildup on what looks like a sensor in the bottom of the tub. I also ran a cycle with an appliance cleaner. The groaning got slightly better but then after two or three more loads, the groaning got worse than before I changed the pump.

Before I plunk $150 into a new motor, can anyone tell me if they've had this problem? I don't want to replace this and then find out it's something else. The washers/sprayers are all getting water and working, from what I can tell.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Following a hard freeze while I was travelling the panel lights on the front panel are no longer on and the drain pump cycles at 30 second intervals even with the door open.I disconnected the power to the unit for 2 days and upon reconnecting it the problem still remains. The front door latch appears to be undamaged and I have removed and cleaned the filter. The dishwasher is 3 years old so any suggestions on tracing the problem(s) would be appreciated.

LG - LE Error Code. Drum only spins in one direction.

Hello.

I have an LG WM2016CW with and LE error code.

When empty, the drum will spin in one direction (counter clockwise). Just shakes a little when trying to turn clockwise.

When loaded with towels, it just shakes a little in each direction, and sometimes turn clockwise.

Spinning tub by hand, no resistance either way.

Would a hall sensor cause this issue, or where should i start?

Thanks!

Can not locate PCB on Samsung DMR78AHS

My Samsung dishwasher suddenly stopped responding to any touch controls and I’ve verified the outlet is good. I think the culprit is a bad PCB, but when I open up the bottom panel, I cannot locate it.

Here are a few images — maybe someone can point me in the right direction (excuse the messy floor!): https://imgur.com/gallery/kDcuG

Refrigerator side not cooling but freezer cold with some ice build up on coils

I know there's an issue with the damper since I can manually open it and feel cool air blowing through into the refrigerator side. I've recently replaced the damper assembly and this has solved the buzzing I was hearing from the old one but doesn't seem to have solved the issue with the damper not opening. This video follows the exact model and part I replaced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8awNkwAnGA&t=305s

I also cleared any ice from the coils and made sure air could flow if the damper was open.

My next thought is to replace the defrost control as it looks like it controls the damper motor but wanted to know if there is another likely candidate for the damper not opening before I buy another part that doesn't fix the issue.

The defrost control (Part #PS2581557) is diagram 23 here: https://www.partselect.com/Models/FR...gerator&Mark=2

Thanks for any help,
Mike

FFHS2311PFHA Sealed system leak

I purchased a Frigidaire side by side that is less than 7 mnths old and stopped freezing and cooling..Frigidaire sent a tech out that determined it has a leak in the system. He didn't use any gauges or anything to test for where the leak is.Frigidaire techs advised him to replace compressor, evaporator and heat exchanger, but instead of putting them back where they originally were,to drill holes in the back wallof this new fridge and mount them on the outside? This is unacceptable to me.Has anyone heard of this happening?I've asked Frigidaire to either fix it properly without modifying it,or to replace it and they won't.

GLEH1642DS1 Frigidaire Gallery Front Load Washer Will Not Spin

So, I know this is a common problem, and I've read a lot of posts about it. This happened once years ago and I replaced the door lock and that fixed it. Started doing it again on and off within the past few months. Now it simply won't spin at all. It agitates back and forth but never gets up to full spin speed. Clothes are left soaking wet. I've since replaced the pump...did not fix it. I've now replaced the door lock again and I THOUGHT it was fixed as the first load with new lock actually did spin. Subsequent loads are again not spinning. Possible control board problem? This is REALLY getting old. Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.

Kenmore Elite Self Clean Quit with Error Code "Hot Spr"

Basically a new gas oven, and was starting the self-cleaning mode. About an hour out, I went to boil a kettle and right at that moment, it beeped, and the message "Hot" and then "Spr" showed in the display panel. It then quite the self clean mode, cooled down and the door unlocked. It also showed clean, so two out of the three make sense, except for the spr and that it was two hours early.

tried searching those as one error message and separate error messages but can't find it anywhere. F codes I can find, but not what that message means.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Edit: Additional detail. Turning on a burner causes SPr to show and cancels the cleaning cycle, but the manual says nothing about that.

GE GDT655 dishwasher cpntrol panel jumper settings

Just replaced the Control Panel in my GE GDT655 dishwasher. The new panel is different than my old and has jumpers. The paperwork that came with my control panel has correponding settings but they did not owrk. I found an old service bulletin with pictures of my user interface but not my specific model number and tried those settings. It is very close but it still does not operate like it should.- lights go out when the door is open. Does anyone have the jumper settings for a GDT655?

New to me, Tappan Deluxe gas oven

I just acquired an old Tappan Deluxe gas oven/range, does anyone know anything about these? I don't see a safety valve on it for the pilot lights, is this really safe to use, or should I shut the gas off every time i'm not using the oven? A co-worker told me the pilots on it doesn't put out enough gas to be dangerous if it should go out, I'm having a hard time with that answer. any help would be appreciated.

Dripping ice maker after filling

I have a Whirlpool model ED5CHQXKT03. After filling the tray, it drips about 10 drops of water (maybe more, but not much). Over the course of a few days, it generates a large ice clump. I'm trying to find the source of the leak, and I can only see where it is dripping at. It is on the rear of the ice maker, from the lower corner nearest the center of the freezer compartment. The fill tube is clear of ice and debris. The exterior of the ice tray itself has 14 years of mineral buildup on it, but I don't see a path where the water is coming from. I don't believe that the ice tray is over filling. Is it time for a replacement ice maker, or is there a component that is likely the culprit?

ESTATE Washer will not spin, hums, will fill with water, wont drain

I have an 8 year old washer, Estate, Model# etw4400wq0. Last night it filled with water for a normal wash cycle, then stopped. When I turned it on there was a persistent humming, audible but not alarmingly loud which appears now to just be the motor trying to run, but it cant. I've spent several hours between last night and this morning on line and trying to troubleshoot the issue. I have found the Lid switch to be good, unit fills with water, motor works fine when unattached from the shaft, visually inspected the inside of the pump to be good and turned it easily with a screw driver. I found the direct drive motor coupling easy to move counter clockwise for the agitator easily, but it took a couple of minutes for me to be able to move it clockwise for the drum. Once I did that, I put everything back together and turned it on. The spin cycle worked for several seconds while a louder humming came into play, i turned it off and then back on. At that point it was back to the humming, no spinning.

Once I manually moved the drum from underneath the unit, it worked for several seconds, made a louder humming noise at which point I shut it off, turned it on and I was back at square one.

I took a picture of what I found online referring to what I spun clockwise to get the drum moving and took an actual picture of the piece I'm talking about.

I don't know much about any of this and this is where my troubleshooting ability about ends. Any help would be greatly appreciated, THANKS!

LG WT1101CW won't spin

$

My top load LG WT1101CW won't spin fast at all. It did display the 'UE' error code & we did re-balance the load.
Now it will do a slow spin. That is unless we shut it off & then restart using a 'spin cycle' only.
It was purchased 10/2013 so of course there is no warranty left.
Any help to troubleshoot - repair will be appreciated.

Refrigerator side fan not receiving 12v

So, i had frost build up on the refrigerator side (bottom part behind the panel, inside the refrigerator, behind the fresh food drawers). Hope the location makes sense. Believe it's called the evaporator fan. Model number D0925F23B4CZ-24 (Servo Gentle Typhoon).

Fan wasn't working, i pulled it out and tested the wires using my digital meter to see if 12V was being put out to the fan. I have ~.3V reading from those wires coming from the back of the refrigerator into the refrigerator compartment.

What could be the issue?

Thanks!
