The first issue that happened was the push to start button being *really* hard to push.
The dryer functioned fine except for that issue. I filed it under "We're gonna have to replace that soon", and forgot about it.
That issue remains, now it will start as soon as the door is closed. (If the selector is in a "run" position).
It turns off when the door is opened or when the selector knob is rotated to "off" but restarts when the door is closed or the knob moves to a run position.
The knob itself continues to turn even after reaching "off" which means that after *some amount of time* the dryer restarts itself. (if the door is closed)
It also seemed that the heat was VERY hot even when we used the low or medium setting. That could be related to the dryer running for a long time (like half a day) as it continued to cycle around the knob continuously.
Temporary solution has been to unplug the dryer once it's in the off position.
In my searches it sounds like push to start button could be the cause of the selector knob issue as well, so my plan is to replace the push to start button first. I have not started to look for the part (I did see a switch listed in another series 80 thread about a dryer with a different model #)
Any insight or assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks!
