Hello. After searching through old posts, it looks like No Spin is a pretty common issue. I tried to read old posts for help, but none of them seemed to match my issue.
The washer seems to work fine in all aspects other than an intermittent no spin cycle. Sometimes it works but sometimes it won't. It drains and the agitate function works fine.
When the problem occurs, I have to open and close the lid over and over before it finally begins working. Closing the lid, you can hear the lid switch click into engaged. There will then be another click from down below. Then the motor starts to turn, but it won't spin. I will often have to turn the basket by hand a few times between lid raises, but this alone doesn't seem to solve it. Here's a typical scenario:
Washer doesn't spin. I open and close the lid up to maybe 20 times. Sometimes this is enough, but not always. I will then spin the basket by hand a half turn or so and resume opening and closing the lid. Even when this works, I will have to open and close the lid a few times.
Other than the obvious spin, I will know when it works because I hear the clunk of the clutch engaging in addition to the other clicks I described above. When it does not work, this sound is not present. It's like it's not even trying to engage the clutch, but once I hear that clunk everything is fine.
I already replaced the clutch and white plastic piece that goes along with it. Also bypassed the lid switch for testing purposes, but no luck there. I checked the pump and nothing is lodged in there.
Any idea where to go next? I've got a few ideas from previous threads, but at this point I feel like I'd just be throwing parts at it until something worked.
