Our Maytag Performa was making a high pitched sound during agitation and spin, but other than that everything was working fine. Googled it, seemed like something was in the pump. Husband had taken the the inside barrel out before I could tell him to just check the pump first, so everything was apart. Checked the pump, found bobby pin in pump. Noise stopped, put everything back together. Now when there is even a little bit of water in the machine, it spins really slow and won't pump water out of the barrel up the hose into the drain. When the machine is empty, it spins fast. If we drop the drain hose down low to drain into bucket, it drains all the water out fast, so the drains aren't clogged. Took the pump out and rechecked it to make sure nothing else was in it, took it apart, no teeth ground down or anything, put it back on, and still won't spin fast enough for it to drain. Belt looked fine. before I order a pump, can it be a belt adjustment?
