Ok I know I have 2 threads like this but this time I'm working on my brother in law's machine and it suddenly stopped mid cycle one day just like ours. His machine was starting to make a nasty squealing sound when it was operating so I had already ordered him a full new pump motor assembly (not installed when it stopped working). I asked him if he wanted me to try and fix it and I suggested to order the noise filter since the problem sounded almost identical. Well I pulled the dishwasher today, replaced both the pump assembly and the noise filter and the machine is still dead. I noticed the noise filter didn't have the telltale burn marks mine did. Next I checked the wires leading to the main board and didn't find any shorting anywhere along the way. Then I tested for power to the main control board and of course there was 120V no problem. After that I looked a bit closer at the main board and saw the fuse looked burnt. Jumping the fuse did nothing either. Upon further inspection other areas of the board looked burnt too so that seems to be the culprit at this point.
My question is primarily am I on the right track with replacing the main board (6871DD1006S)?
Is there any way it could be something else like the main control board (6871DD2002A) or Display power control board assembly (6871DD2001B) causing the issue?
I just don't want to be ordering parts and still not have it fixed.......pressure is on now to get this fixed asap.
Any help from those in the know would be most appreciated!
